“Dexter”

Dexter had a problem of urinating in the family’s living room on and off for the past three years. Dr. Sung was so knowledgeable about this problem and we started with many suggestions. I am so happy they came to our aid. I was afraid I was going to lose him after nine years and now we have a new chapter with hope and love.

“Rex”

Rex started to go into complete flight mode when hearing any sort of loud noise. He started hiding in the bathroom and his back hair would stand up anytime I wanted to take him outside, and he hated going on walks or hikes. After working with Dr. Sung, Rex no longer hides in the bathroom. We are back on hikes and he is swimming after his ball in the Bay again. After hearing loud noises, he now checks in with me for reassurance instead of going into flight mode. Dr. Sung is absolutely amazing and educated us on how to help Rex through this difficult time. After a lot of time and patience, Rex is his crazy self again!

“Cooper”

In 2021, we moved to our dream home. We were ecstatic, except our 8 year-old Copper did not handle this move very well. A day after our move, he whined and barked non-stop whenever we left his sight. He was in utter distress. Dr. Sung was wonderful in explaining all the different medication and training options. We were reluctant at first because of Cooper’s advanced age, however, the quality of life and ours was diminishing. As Cooper got adjusted to the combination of medication and we continued our training sessions, we finally started to see quick and steady progress. Today we can leave him alone for up to 8 hours!

“Nillie”

We adopted Manila (“Nillie”) during the height of the pandemic, in August 2020, at 8 weeks old. We knew very little about her background or her parents. When she became an adolescent, she began to struggle in a variety of situations, including escalating dog reactivity while out on walks and reactivity to things going on outside our house. She had other behaviors, like a very hard time settling in new environments, that we did not even realize were related. Life was getting harder for all of us, and we needed help. Dr. Sung diagnosed Nillie with anxiety, got the correct medication regimen on board, and paired it with positive reinforcement-based training in conjunction with our trainer. Watching Nillie blossom under the proper medication regimen truly felt like getting to meet her best self – Nillie became more optimistic, confident, calm, and playful. I love watching her roll upside down playing with a toy, engaging with the world with curiosity instead of fear, and sleeping soundly through situations that previously would have caused big reactions. I am so grateful to Dr. Sung and her team for giving Nillie this new life.
